Global Ad Spending Comparison 2000-2020

This video shows global advertisement spending by medium from 2000-2020. Television and newspaper outlets used to be the top dogs for advertisers. With the rise of the internet, followed by the rise of the smartphone, the advertising and marketing industry have been radically changed. Two companies, Google and Facebook, have taken over the market. Amazon now comes in third.

Internet advertising has been broken apart between desktop and mobile to highlight the smartphone revolution.

Data was obtained from advertising measurement company Zenith and Forbes.
